Personal Experience
Antonio studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago undergrad, double majoring in Psychology and Latin American History with a minor in Latino and Latin American Studies. He went on to study at Adler University and obtain a dual degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic Mental Health Leadership. Antonio works both in private practice and community mental health from ages 13 and up.
Combining life experiences, studying psychology, and working six years in a state mental health facility led to a focus on choice theory, existentialism, reality therapy, and positive psychology. He also approaches therapeutic settings with the belief that there are always options and that any person can overcome difficulties if they find what works best for them. Each person knows themselves best, so they'll be taking the reins of their own life with their counselor simply there as a sounding board and encouragement.
